A crafting hide away, just bliss!!!!!!

Over the Easter break myself and my family travelled to North Yorkshire and stayed at a wonderful little cottage called Mill View Cottage.
The views were just breath taking, and on a good day we could see the sparklng blue sea just beyond the lush green fields, it was just amazing!!!

We had the most wonderful time, I could have stayed there forever!!!
My boys (all three of them, lol!) two kids and hubby enjoyed the fossil hunting, whilst one of the highlights for me, was finding the perfect crafting spot to while away the hours, it was sheer and utter heaven!!!

A big hello! and my latest mini album too!

Hi Everyone!

Sorry I'm a little behind on my blogging, but the last few weeks have been a bit hectic! My pc is on its last legs, and it seems it only wants to play when I talk nicely to it, lol!
We've also been away on holiday, we went to North Yorkshire, it was just lovely!!! The kids had a wonderful time fossil hunting, and I even found a fab crafty corner in the stunning little cottage we stayed in, oh yes, ofcourse I brought some stash! :)
We're just making the most of the last few days of the Easter hols now, it's just so lovely not to clock watch for a while :)
It's beautiful here today, the sun has got its hat on again, hurray!!! so I think we'll do a spot of gardening with the kids later, well we may as well make the most of it!

I thought you might like to see my latest mini, this was made out of paper bags, and my swap partner was Robin, in Ireland. The theme was recipes, so it was fun to try something different. This is the first paperbag mini I've made (and finished, lol!) so was really chuffed with it, as all the recipe cards slot inside :)

Robin has made me the most AMAZING mini album, she's a ceramic artist, so many of the little embellishments were made of pottery! How cool is that?!!! Pictures to follow, promise!

Anyway, here's my little paperbag album, I hope you like it :)

Happy Crafting Everyone!

Big Hugs!

Paper Dottee Dolls, they're sooo addictive!!!!

Hi everyone!

Thought you might like to see some of my new little dottee doll pals!
These are friendship swap dolls. I have made these before in fabric (will try and pop some photo's of those on later) but these ones are made with paper (and fabric faces, I just sewed the lashes, lips and cheeks on :)
There's currently a swap running on the Do Crafts Website on the Scrapbook forum if you would like to take part (it's great fun!)
You can design your Dottee Doll in whatever way you like, and Carole over on the forum will be arranging swap partners very soon.
If you'd like to join in the fun, please pop over and take a peek on the forum.
Anyway, here are some of my little Dottee's, I've designed them to be either happy little wall hangings or cheery book marks :)

Great to be back, and soooo much blogging to do!

Hi Everyone!

Phew, it's great to be back!!! So sorry my blog has not been kept up to date and I've not been over to comment on yours, but sadly I was without internet and mail access for some time :(
But I'm delighted to report, thanks to my wonderful Dad and husband, between them they managed to sort it out, so here I am, horray!!!

Well, since I was last on, I celebrated my 39th bithday, thank you to everyone for your well wishes and birthday cards :)

I must say, one thing about not having the internet, ment I had so much more time to craft, so not all bad!

It's amazing how much I managed to get done, several ATC's, Mini albums, Valetine, baby and birthday cards, oh and a Mothers Day and Anniversary card too, can't forget those :)

I also received the most wonderful things during the last few weeks, so many beauitful handmade cards from my lovely pals over on Do Crafts, thank you all!!! A wonderful cross stitched picture made by my friend Carole, it's wonderful!!! I must pop it up on my blog later.
I also won a pile of fab blog candy from the lovely Susie J. Thank you Susie, you are so kind, I love it all, I hope you got my mail :)

And finally, a stunning little album from the lovely Felicia over on Scrapsville, OMG! it is just wonderful! I have soooo many wonderful things to add to my blog, I can't wait to show you all. Also, a big thank you to the lovely Alma, for all the bithday stash goodies too, I really am such a lucky gal!

Our first Journaling Jar!

Is it really Monday evening already?! I think I must have blinked and missed the week-end, lol!

Well, my lovely kids seemed to spend most of the week-end fighting over this and that, ah, don't you just love em!
So, in an attempt to get them away from the Wii and all things technical, I took them out for a big long walk in the woods, there's nothing like a long brisk walk to clear away the cobwebs.

On our return, I thought it would be a nice idea to do something crafty, and thought perhaps a journaling jar would be great fun!
My youngest is not really ready for this yet (but don't worry, we'll do something else for him :) but my older child is, and thought it was a great idea.

So, after a bit of googling, I found this great site with lots of journaling prompts for kids, it's designed to get them writing and capturing their memories in a fun way, and it's all free!!!!

All you do is....
print the prompts, cut them into strips, fold, and pop them into a jar. Each day you pick out a random prompt from the jar, stick it inside your journal and write your answer.

We used an old Yankee candle jar( yum! my faves!) scrubbed it out and decorated with handmade tags and string, we also put his inital on each of the tags, just to personalise it. Then covered a plain journal with lots lovely paper, handmade tags and lots of die cuts made with our fabby cuttlebug, mod podged the lot, and hey presto!

Here's the link if you'd like to try it, why not give it a go, it's great fun for your kids, and there's a section with adult prompts too! It's a great way to capture your memories, and looks cute too :)

Old Sneaky Pants!

Hi Everyone!

Sorry I've not been around for the last week or so, what a naughty blogger I am!
We hope to have some building work done on our house soon, so there's been lots of fun and games with sorting out builders, quotes and so on. The works not started yet, but hopfully soon! All we have to do now, is decide on a builder and work out how we're going to pay for it all, yikes!

Yesterday, I thought phew! at last a day to finally catch up with some fun stuff, (I think I thought too soon!) because then the phone rang, it was the school to tell me my little boy had been pushed over during break time and had cut his chin badly. So, I ended up taking the poor little sausage to hospital to have paper stitchs :(
So he's off school today having some Mummy time, snuggle on the sofa, biccies and a DVD, ah well, he was such a brave little man :)

I've soooo much catching up to do, not only on here, but also with my pals on Do Crafts. I have however managed to do a bit of crafting during all the crazyness, hooray!!!
I made a valentines card, and my second ATC, this ones off to my crafty pal Gina, who set this months challenge, "music from the year you were born" yikes! I'm delighted to say, I finished that to, pheweee! I've not posted it yet, but when Gina's not looking, I'll sneak it in my gallery for you all to have a peek at, lol!

Anyway, I hope you are all well :)
I've got a few bits an bobs to add to my gallery, but thought I must show you all this. It's our cat Murphy who made a tasty discovery last night in my little boys room. He was so delighted with himself he ran off to share his tasty news with his pal Pixie (our second cat) LOL!

Happy Crafting & Sparkles to you all! XXXXX
